Martin Carthy is quite simply a folk hero.
From the early 60's, Martin was at the forefront of the folk revival scene, with his unique style credited as having influenced greats such as Bob Dylan and Paul Simon.
His album "Transform Me Then Into a Fish" is an exciting amalgamation of 8 re-recorded tracks from the start of Martin's career in London in the 60s, and 3 new original songs, becoming an instant fan hit.
We were lucky enough to start work on the CDs and records for this wonderful album back in March with Martin's team, and were overjoyed when they told us the album was nominated for the Mercury Prize!
Martin's album was nominated alongside Pulp, Fontaines DC, Wolf Alice, CMAT, FKA Twigs, Jacob Alon, Joe Webb, Emma-Jean Thackray, Pa Salieu and PinkPantheress, with the winner being Sam Fender.
We just want to say we're incredibly proud of you Martin Carthy and it was an absolute honour to have been a part of your Mercury Prize nominated album!
