The Adventures of DMS

From campaigning to reduce the amount of plastic packaging used by the music industry, to supporting a local Plymouth charity that transforms the lives of vulnerable or disadvantaged youths through music and music therapy, DMS have a rich history of supporting worthy causes relating to the music industry.

The latest such project partners us with a boarding school on the outskirts of the Ugandan capital, Kampala. The school have being doing incredible work since 1968, providing physically disabled children with access to a meaningful education and a route into employment. The school has an enrolment of 100 pupils with physical disabilities between the ages of 6 and 18, including those with cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, spinal bifida and polio.

After being introduced to the headmistress through an African client, we actioned a five year financial support plan, and rolled out our system-wide IT upgrade a few years ahead of schedule in order to also donate over thirty professionally refurbished computer systems to the school. These ship out in a couple weeks and will form the basis of their first ever IT suite, providing the students with the opportunity to pick up valuable computer skills that will help them to financially sustain themselves in later life.

If you would like to know more about this project or would like to consider donating equipment, services or money to the cause, please get in touch.
