All our records are produced using virgin vinyl to the highest industry standards and at seriously competitive rates. DMS press vinyl and manufacture packaging in all sizes and formats. Test Pressings
Where time permits, we always recommend that you opt for test pressings. Test pressings are the first set of records pressed from the metalwork and are used to listen for any unwanted artefacts and act as a final check against any potential human error prior to pressing the main run. Test pressings aren't included in the prices above, and generally add two to three weeks to the order. Our teams will always check the most seemingly insignificant of details in your art and audio files during pre-production processing, and will flag up any discrepancies that we encounter in order to minimise the risk of errors down the line.
Please note that as the DMM cutting/lacquer processing and metalwork need to be produced in order to manufacture test pressings, a non-refundable payment will be required. This amount will be deducted from the total invoice amount upon test pressing approval.
Delivery
You may collect your completed order from our London Distribution Centre (Middlesex) without incurring the full delivery charge. For multiple addresses or non UK mainland destinations please email us for confirmation of delivery prices.
If the delivered consignment is damaged or incomplete in any way, please note this on the delivery note with the courier. We understand that sometimes drivers can be in a rush or you need to ask someone else to sign for them, in this instance please just sign as damaged or unchecked. Any claims for damaged goods will need to be made with DMS within 7 working days of receipt of the consignment.
Shrink-wrap & Overbags *
We always recommend shipping orders with shrink-wrap or with the vinyl outside of the printed sleeves, both packed into a poly overbag as this helps reduce the risk of damage in transit due to the movement of the vinyl within the sleeve. Please do check with your distributor though as some companies insist that all products are shrink-wrapped. You also need to consider if alternative packing will obscure barcodes or other important information printed on the artwork.
Production Tolerances
Our records and packaging undergo rigorous quality control checks to ensure that only products of the highest standard are delivered to your door. Due to these stringent checks, and the complex nature of vinyl production, it's possible that there will be a shortfall in the final number of completed units that are delivered to you. Production tolerances are utilised to help streamline production and ensure fast and efficient turnaround of orders. We promise that our tolerances will not exceed -20% for pressing splits up to 499 units, -10% for pressing splits in the range 500 - 1999 units or -6% for pressing splits above 2000 units. We will of course credit any shortfall if we deliver fewer units than requested.
Repressing or reprinting units that do not meet our ambitious standards is not economical and can cause substantial delays in production. If you are planning a limited edition release, or have already pre-sold stock prior to ordering, we recommend that we apply a positive tolerance to your order. This would mean that your required quantity becomes the lowest number of units that could be pressed within our tolerances, guaranteeing that you receive a minimum of your desired quantity, but potentially an additional quantity up to the relevant tolerance level for your order.
VAT
UK Value Added Tax (VAT) will be added to all listed prices at the current rate of 20%. If you are based in the EU (outside UK) and your order is being shipped to a non UK address and you have a valid VAT number we can zero rate the VAT. If you are based outside of the EU then VAT will not be charged on your order but you may be liable to pay relevant import taxes at the final delivery destination.
